§ 14.48.030. Vehicle operation contrary to barrier or sign.

  • (a)

    No person shall operate a vehicle contrary to the directions and provisions of any barrier or sign erected pursuant to an order of the city manager or resolution of the city council. Such barrier may exclude vehicular or pedestrian traffic, or both, from all or part of a public street, for stated periods and times or for an indefinite period, not exceeding one week and upon such reasonable conditions as the city manager may specify. The order of the city manager closing a street to vehicular traffic shall be in writing and shall be posted at either end of the closed street from the time of its issuance until its expiration.

    (b)

    No person shall operate a motor vehicle contrary to the directions or provisions of any barrier or sign erected pursuant to an encroachment permit issued to any public utility or railroad, or to an ordinance or resolution of the city council, or to an order by any person, pursuant to law or contract with the city; nor shall any unauthorized person move or alter the position of any such barrier or sign.
